Wel I Got The Shock Of A Lifetime!!!

Too cool man. I am happy for you:tu

I love my wife to death but for me going out to have a smoke is a chance to get a little alone time. If my wife smoked too it would bug the hell out of me:D

I am glad it is working out for you.

Wow.. that has got to be one of the best stories I have seen in a long time. The part I liked best was how you ended it with ... your best friend... how true. Congrats and I would get her a humidor filled with her favorites for Christmas. But do explain to her that Opus X will cause her nails to get brittle and break, eye shadow to smear and lipstick to darken.. that way she will stay away from those. :D

Yes she is truly my best friend and usually cant get enough time with her. She is the coolest wife I could have ever hoped for.

I have not smoked one of those before, come to think of it I cant recall that I have ever seen one. If it is not a flavored cigar I dont think I will have to worry about her wanting one.

I definitely smoke most often with my wife, either just the two of us, or with friends. As some of you fellas have said, why not have your best friend and partner in life be there to share those great 'cigar moments'?

If it is not a flavored cigar I dont think I will have to worry about her wanting one.

As I began smoking more cigars earlier this year (yet still somewhat occasional) with clients and friends, I asked my wife if she wanted to try some flavoreds with me as I smoked the premiums. She stepped right up and tried Acid's Blondie and really liked them. Damn tasty little sucker it is. She was hooked and started to light up right along with me. Our local B&M didn't have Blondie's for a while and she was very disappointed. But our man at the store suggested Drew Estate/Natural's Jucy Lucy (spelled correctly) and now that's her favorite! So, Hybridtuner, I definitely recommend your wife try those two if she hasn't already. That Kahlua one is delicious too, she's right!

My wife will also smoke a premium with me now and then...I think the last one was at a Ghurka store event a few months back where she took down a Status Churchill. Nice!

Very cool,Just don't tell her about the devil site...:r

Yeah, what is the devil site, exactly? One site in particular like www.cigarbid.com or any online cigar store? Wait, now I'm not sure I want to know.... :D

Actually I smoke alot of the acids along with alot of other brands. My favorite is an Acid 5. I must say (and I know I am going to start a war buy saying this) Acids are not "flavored" cigars. I know they are not like the "traditional" but they are not flavored. Acids fall in the subcultre so they are fround apon by some traditional smokers but I say to each their own. I say this with the utmost respect and I am not trying to start an argument about it. Anyway, We were out of Kahlua's this weekend so I gave my wife a Drew Estate Irish Hops. She loved it (better than the Kahlua) in fact she smoked 2 of them this weekend. am not sure what I am going to have her try next but at this rate she will be smoking the "traditional" ones before long:D

Makes me a very happy man to share my hobbies with her!:ss

Thanks for the compliments everyone!

I know how you feel! My wife started enjoying cigars with me a couple of years ago when we were visiting Orlando and Tampa.:tu

I'm happy for yah, my girlfriend was in the same boat as your wife, thinking that me smoking cigars is "sexy." She's tried a few puffs here and there but nothing concrete like your better half :)

Nice, I'll have to get some for my wife. She tried (and I tasted) the CAO Eileen's Dream (a combination of Irish cream & white chocolate truffles) but it didn't have much flavor at all.

Oh, and I just throw the Acid's/Kahlua's/Jucy Lucy's, etc. in the flavored category but I guess I should call 'em Infused (but I didn't just for fear some wouldn't know what the heck an infused cigar is! I didn't when I started :ss)

I have been seriously smoking cigars for a bit over a year now. My wife has always supported me in everything I do. She seems to think that me smoking a cigar is very sexy! Yea I know, go figure right.

So a couple of weeks I am in the garage working on my cabinet humi and enjoying a nice smoke. My wife comes outside to see how things are going. We start talking and she decides to take a puff. That led to a couple of puffs and all the sudden she looked at me and said "this is very relaxing". That led to my next suggestion that if she wanted we could have one together after dinner one night. The other night after a good meal I get her a Kahlua by Drew Estate, put on some music, had a smoke together and some good conversation. I sat there and smoked my Extra Ordinary Larry and she smoked her Kahlua. She absolutely loved it. She says know she really understands why I smoke cigars. It really gave her a chance to sit back and relax and take some time for herself.

Ok so I know that is pretty cool but the shock of a lifetime? Well here it is. I come home from work the other night to find my wife sitting on the back porch smoking another Kahlua by herself. She says she just wanted to relax after a hard day at work. I could not be happier. Then she tells me tonight she would like to have a cigar after we eat dinner.

It looks like I have a new smoking buddy and I could not think of any person that would make a better smoking buddy than to have my best friend enjoy it with me.:D

Just thought I would share my story with everyone.
Thanks for listening!

THATS AWESOME BRO! :tu we need a High five smiley!

I know I'm gonna get reamed :hnfor this reply, but I got to get this off my chest. First off, this was a very interesting post and I have to admit it caught my attention right away. But after reading it and the various positive responses, something just kind of irked me about the whole situation.

But before I begin, I'd like to preface my comment with the thought that anything that helps a couple connect a little more, whether it be a shared interest or good communication, I'm all for.

I don't how to say this delicately, so I'll just come out and say it. I don't like the idea of my wife or girlfriend smoking a cigar, especially with me. I might be old fashioned, but I see cigar smoking as a masculine activity and if my significant other wanted to partake in a shared smoke, it would take something away from the idea that it's MY 'man' time, or even my time with the 'boys'.

Now please don't think I'm sexist, because my wife basically rules the household and I essentially do everything that she says. But there are certain understood boundaries where we try not to get involved in some of each others interests (e.g. she wants to be left alone when watching sex in the city and I delightfully respect that).

Even if you guys disagree, where do you draw the line? If you dipped or chewed (God forbid), and your wife wanted to spit in the same spittoon with you on the porch, does anyone see the issue here? On the opposite end of the spectrum, lets say your wife knits, which similar to cigars can be a calming/relaxing activity, and you asked her if you could join on a regular basis...how do you think she would take that?

Any and all comments welcome...and I pray that I'm not the ONLY one that feels this way.

The nice thing is that one can make the cigar experience very personalized to one's particular tastes, be it in selecting one's cigars or selecting those individuals with whom to smoke. You enjoy your 'man' time and that's certainly your prerogative. I don't think there's any 'issue' per se. You choose to keep your wife out of your smoking time. I choose to include mine.

My wife doesn't knit, but she does cook and finds enjoyment in that. I join in and she appreciates it, and like when I smoke with her, she enjoys the continued time we share together as do I.

I really don't see anything wrong with it and frankly, you shouldn't either. You can certainly use CS as a sounding board to see how others feel but make sure you don't end up criticizing those with tastes that differ from your own. To be clear, I'm not saying you are. You're merely saying that your opinion is that you prefer to smoke without your wife. You have every right to your opinion.
