I resist. It is, after all, the Sabbath. You might want to shut the barn door though.

A bit of Febreeze on the end of your tongue!!! :r:chk:chk

There is nothing I have found that gets rid of it that I know of, going through the regimen you mentioned then some OJ helps, at least if I have a meeting or something afterwards I dont get comments but as for the girlfriend it doesnt work 100%...

If you can stand it, go with about 10 spearmint altoids at once. Also, there is a product called Cigar Clear that does a good job.

Funny you mention this....I just woke up after 4 cigars last night and and could still taste/smell cigar....I usually brush my teeth and then swish some listerine and it helps

After a recent thread concerning dark chocolate as a palate cleanser, I gave it a shot. I found it to be fairly effective in at least getting rid of some of the taste of a stale cigar. I use 85% cocoa or better, and it seems to help.

I was also a fan of a handful of dried cereal as well.

I have a multi stage regimen that works for the nose of one of the biggest non fans of cigars I know. Starts with the full teeth scrubbing, gums, tongue roof of mouth etc. Don't forget to floss as well and now I am not a dental hygenist.

I follow that up with a double shot of listerine intense (makes my eyes water ever time)

After that I toss in a couple of pieces of Clorets gum and giver a good 15 minute chew or longer if you have time.

The problem I have with this process is my mouth tastes like it was just sterilized for surgery so I usually have piece of peanut butter toast after to settle things down a bit.

If I skip any of the above, I always get the .............. did you brush your teeth comment.

Smoke Cubans. Seriously. I find that what finish I have left is not only delicious, but usually is completely gone in a couple hours to the point where I could not taste that I have smoked a cigar. Luckily my sweety doesn't mind, she just says "you smell like cigars".

DANG!
After all of that, I would really need to have a cigar.

A cigar smells better than me any way so its all good!
I dip my finger in the ashtray and rub it over my teeth n gums to freshen my breath, works a treat!:chk

I have read somewhere that the smell is not necessarily a result of the smoke but rather the nicotine that's in your blood. You slowly secrete it after a cigar so all the mouth hygiene in the world won't speed that process. The only true solution is lots of water to flush the system and time.

Having said that, the Cigar Clear stuff works fairly well and I'll chew gum if I'm at work to make the most offensive parts of the smell go away.

The cuban cigar comment is a good point because after a few of my favorites (Monte #2 or #4, Cohiba Siglo 2), I don't want to even drink water because the finish is so tasty and enduring. Alas, my wife and co-workers don't share my enthusiasm.

The only cigar my wife isn't completely repulsed by is the AF Hemingway. She actually enjoys the smell of that cigar. But even that cigar won't get me any sexy time immediately after. I'm pretty much out of business in that regard for a few hours after enjoying a cigar. My philosophy is this...the cigar is a sure thing, especially if it's one of your fav's. Sexy time is never a sure thing and only happens when a complex equation of unknown factors are just right.

Just enjoy the cigar!:ss

I usually chew a few pieces of Stride Spearmint! Seems to do a good job at clearing up the smoke taste.

I don't know about the smell since my sense of smell is shot to hell after a good cigar, but for taste, those sliced pickled ginger root they serve with Sushi seems to work really well and clearing out the taste buds.

I think it also works for smell too since my wife can't seem to smell any cigar on my breath afterwards. And yes, they do sell those pickled ginger root in a jar--at least around here they do.

However, if you don't like the taste of ginger root, I'm not sure what would really work.

If I smoke at night, I don't like the drag the smell onto my sheets. So I'll just shower before I go to sleep. For my breath, I wear a particulate mask for work every day, and I don't particularly like to smell stale cigars on my own breath in the morning. I brush my teeth and tounge, and then have some peanut butter crackers or gum.
