California here I come!

First PaulMac gets married and moves to Jersey, Now Drew is heading out to the West Coast. I'm starting to think you guys just don't like HERFing with me anymore.

Well the time has come! I spent last weekend riding to and from DC for the Rolling Thunder rally. Man what an awesome display of patriotism. 750,000 bikes riding in memorial of our fallen veterans. I've never seen so many people excited to see a pack of bikes. This was a 1000 mile round trip warm up for me.

I plan on leaving around 5AM Friday morning, heading to Ohio for the night. I'm thinking I might have to stop at the CI superstore, since it's on the way...

I should be in San Francisco by Thursday or Friday of next week. Not sure how much internet access I'll have, but I'll try to post updates along the way.

Thats great man!! You'll love they bay area. Sf is amazing and alameda is a beautiful little city surrounded by water. Have a safe drive out here!

Have a safe and fun ride on the w/b 80 Drew. You will definitely enjoy the Bay area, and you will be near the BABOTL's too. I'm very sure they will help you get "acclimated" upon arrival...:tu


 
Hello all, a I'm a newbie to the board, but not to cigars (been at it heavily since mid 90s).

We used to have a couple of decent cigar bars in recent years in East Bay, one in Walnut Creek, another in San Ramon (O'Kane's). Neither is open these days and I wonder where do locals tend to congregate to smoke a few?
 
I tell you what....SF/Bay area has some awesome eats for very cheap cheap prices.....I miss the food there.
 
Well after almost a week on the road I finally made it!

Spent a couple days riding through the storms that ravaged the midwest, the bike is COVERED in grime. Really need to give it a bath. Weather here is absolutely gorgeous.

Looks like I'm going to be spending the weekend checking out the area before heading in to work Monday.

As you are driving through Sacramento on the 80, there is a nice cigar shop right off the freeway downtown called Tower Cigars. Check it out if you have time.
