CAO Vision

Thats funny. With minor changes to the sopranos box and vision box they could make some sweet humidors, probably sell better than cigars.

true that! they actually started making humidors (and selling merrscham pipes) and they clearly have the art of the box down :ss

Anyway do these have Dominican wrappers? that would justify an extra 3 bucks (ish)

I saw the vision this week at the BM.... I couldnt help but think If they had put these in a less expensive box how much money we could save buying the same cigar, I passed them up.

The box was different, reminded me of the Las Vegas strip.

They're a dominican puro. Wrapper, binder, and filler

I remember when the first LED equalizer came out for car stereo's/ I would only drive at night. I see myself in the dark opening and closing the lid on these babies until the box light dims. I agree $9-12 a stick is a tad high, but being first on the block with the box does have a good ring to it.

Let us know how it goes.

Good luck

Anyone actually seen the box? Is it any good as far as keeping stogies fresh?

I saw the box, very flashy, Thats CAO..... built in digital Hygrometer

I imagine it will work fine as a humidor, but it's an expensive humi considering its' size 25 sticks.

But hey if you like this type of thing, it's very unique, and a cool conversation piece, for a small destop.

IMO, this is way too much per stick. I have picked up a few of the Soprano's line, and while I enjoyed them, for a few more bucks I'd rather spend that money on a Shark or PAM. You could also pick up almost 3 Gol's for that much per stick. I agree its a cool looking conversational piece though

Saw some of these at my local B&M this weekend. As a college student, I dont have the scratch for any right now, maybe in the summer

From what I understood from the RTDA show last year price is pretty much going to be 12-15 in most places.

Seeing them in person, they'll definitely be a demand from the collectors out there.

Saw them for the first time at my B&M tonight, they just got in 3 boxes (one of each size.) I had to bust out laughing at the superfluous packaging..... SOOo over the top. But still looked really damn cool ;) The neat part is, it's actually a functional humidor with hygrometer flush-mounted in the front; so it can be used as a humidor after smoking up all the original sticks... The battery for the cold cathode neon can be replaced also. Will probably pick up a stick and see if the actual product is worth all the hoopla in the packaging.......

I know this thread has been inactive for about a month but I felt the need to chime in... Living in NY we get hit with a huge tobacco tax. In some cases amounting to as much at $3 or $4 a stick.:2 I purchased a box of the Epiphany size (6" x 50) for about $350 as soon as they arrived at my local cigar shop. I've now gone through half of the box and would say that I'm very satisfied with the cigar as a whole. The burn has been very consistant, the construction exceptional and of course the packaging (although excessive) very cool. The flavor, to me at least, is very dynamic. There are tones of leather at the beginning. About 1/4 through, more nutty flavors chime in. The last 1/3 is the best though (in my opinion of course) with almost chocolaty hints mixed in. I hear a lot of people balking at the price. I have to agree that if they would make boxes sans hi-tech humidor it would probably end up being < $10 a stick BUT I would venture to say that these cigars are on par with (and in some cases better than) the Davidoffs that they were meant to compete with.

I traded for a couple of the robustos last month and found them fair at best. The construction on them looked good, but mine were plagued with irregular burns, tunneling and loose/crumbly ash. The flavors were good for the first half - cedar, coffee, nuts, mild spices (typical Dominican), but due to the bad burns and subsequent relights, the flavor turned very bitter the second half.

Based on my small sampling, I won't be getting any more of these in the future.

I just got a box of robusto and have to say they were amazing!!! peppery and loaded with flavor. the box is amazing but the real claim to fame is the cigar. I think it is on par with the 100 anos. :ss:sb

Wow, that's sayin' a lot!

I'm a HUGE C.A.O. fan (my favorite cigar company), but around here, the cheapest I've found the Robusto is $14, and I'm not gonna pay that.

Here was my take from another thread (below). I thought it has hints of the chalky anos flavor, and some attributes of a don carlos. I tried one and have another sleeping. I think it will be great with age, but again the price point comes up. Some of the top nc cigars that can easily beat it (26, 64, anejo, opusx, 100 anos) and are cheaper. But it unique and worth a try; not an investment...

Finally had one and it's not bad. Packaging is a killer though. I figure a box is 280, and the actual box is worth at least 100. I paid 14 for one torp...minus the box it would have been 9. Definitely a good 5-7 dollar smoke. Strong, good burn, and a decent one dimensional taste. If CAO can get the price down I would be a little interested in this line. But right now, put it with the Soprano. A good cigar for the price of two good cigars.
