Do you still use CBID ?

That's crazy...$300 for 4 FFOXs. :sl
Multiple times I've placed an original bet and then went to edit it up a few bucks later in the day or the next day. The site will then change my place in the bid order so that it looks like I just placed the bid instead of being in front of the 20 people that bid after my original bid. (follow me?) I'm done with the site besides bidding on those mega sampler specials where they have 200 units up for bids at about $2 a stick.
I swear they have people working for CI that put in fake bids to bid you up.
Thoughts?

I only use CBID if it will save me money. I got a box of DPG Perlas for $61. I would've paid at least $70 most likely $80 elsewhere.

I also always take into account shipping. I like to go on CBID runs and save on shipping. I always do my price per stick including shipping. Ordering 5 packs with $5 shipping is an extra $1 per stick. When I do hit CBID, I make sure there is plenty I want and I hit it hard, like 30 low bids. I factor in shipping when I made my bids. I probably save 15-30%. But yes, I see people bidding over what CI has the same stuff for and it drives me nuts.

I still use them. I just set my auto-bid to the max I am willing to pay. If i win so be it if i don't i return and bid another day.

As a neewbie Ive found that I can ususally score better deals on cigarauctioneer or jrcigar auctions. I picked up a box of CAO Italia Novellas last week for $43 on their dutch auction.

Maybe its because cbid has so many users that it has become more difficult to score a deal.

What I dont understand is why are some people willing to pay more than you can buy it for regularly? Maybe they like the excitement of a win???

Yes, and some people absolutely refuse to lose, even when they could pick up the sticks cheaper at Thompsons.

I use it from time to time ifsee something I like. I have got some pretty good deals from cbid, you just have to be aware of the retail price of the item you are bidding on.

In moderation. I check prices against other sites before I bid. If the savings isn't substantial I just buy from somewhere else to save myself the aggravation of bidding and then finding out on the last day that I didn't get what I tried to buy. I am also developing a very good relationship with a local B&M who is starting to cut me some pretty good deals. When it comes down to it, I may just have them order me a box of whatever I want to get and prepay them for it. Cbid is good for some things, but I stick mainly to the larger lots which aren't as subject to price inflation.
