How much Spitting?

I pretty much always spit, some more than other, especially if I find myself smoking too fast. I don't spit too much when I have a drink with me though.

It's better to spit than swallow your saliva while smoking.

I am sure glad that someone else asked this question. I have wanted bring it up but was afraid to get the :r :mn . I know it is really not like that for the most part around here. So I have found that with some Cigars Full Body I want to spit. I don't like it. Even the other day I was just on a pre draw when I needed to spit :dr odd. If I drink something I don't spit. So while in doors or around others I will be drinking something. Just my :2

James.

Never be afraid to ask anything, especially while you're on here and it's cigar related, almost everyone here is more than willing to lend a helping hand/insight.
Just make sure it doesn't break the rules, and that you've checked the stickes and/or searched first. If you still can't find anything useful then go ahead and make a thread, no shame :tu

I rarely spit. I find that most times my mouth is very dry while enjoying a cigar so I always have something to drink with me.

I don't spit that much these days but there was a time when I did. Since I usually at least have a glass of water when I enjoy a cigar, I suppose I am with some of the others here inasmuch that I am probably just drinking away whatever aftertaste I might not like.

When I first started I felt the need, most likely because I smoking too fast. Now I still smoke too fast but I think I have slowed down enough where the tars don't build up so fast and make the taste sour.

I might also help that I am smoking better cigars now. :tu

I hardly ever spit but my wife still hates taking me out in public because I drool a lot.:chk:chk:chk

I only spit when the cigar gets nasty, during times of a purge or a relight. Other than that I enjoy the taste of cigar flavored spit. :D

One of my casual smoker friends who comes over on occasion spits so often, I usually end up getting the hose and giving the patio a once over after he leaves.

Grosss!!

Can't say that spitting is part of my smoking ritual. Now if it were a Copenhagen cigar I might need to, but I haven't smoked one of those lately.
:ss

When I smoked my first couple sticks I found myself spitting a lot. I realized I was spitting all the flavor out.

I spit fairly often when I'm smoking outside, but if I'm indoors or in public I don't. If I have something to drink I don't really need to spit at all.

I find that when smoking I tend to build up saliva and have to spit. Not that I enjoy it, but I don't want to swallow the tobacco spit.
Not sure why I build up so much saliva when smoking.

Dave

This may sound a little odd, but I find the urge to spit is much less frequent with Cuban cigars. I don't know if it's a quality of tobacco thing, or a Cuban thing.

I don't spit very often while smoking regardless, but after someone made this observation about their own experiences, I found it to hold true for me. Or it could just be the power of suggestion :D.

I find that the exact opposite happens when I smoke, I usually have to have a drink during or right after my smoke since my mouth gets so dry.

I've never had the urge to spit......

The tip of my cigar is almost always bone dry too, wtf is with the slobber fellas? :r

HAHA you kidding me? My buddies see me smoking a cigar during softball BP and they are like...Oh cool can I have some.. then they look at the tip and realize they don't want to be putting my saliva in their mouth...hahaha

I only spit a lot when others are not around but if it's just me..spit away!:ss

I dont recall neededing to spit at all,

I'm just thinking are you a keep in hand smoker or a keep in mouth smoker?
(I just made this up) I see alot of people smoke with keeping the cigar in thier hand between puffs (like I do)and then you have peopke that just cant take that cigar off there mouth, they talk, drink do thinks etc.. and just keep on chewing like they are ready to eat it, maybe that can cause alot of mucas, or some people just have a weter pallate.

I have never needed to spit when smoking, but I see lots of discussion on it. Not sure why most of my friends and I don't seem to feel the urge.

I my personal experience, I used to spit when I started smoking. I was smoking a lot of NCs, and certain ones would leave a bad taste in my mouth, hence the spitting. Now, I am trying to figure out how to keep the aftertaste of a finely aged Cuban in my mouth until I smoke the next one.
