Humidification Beads: FAQs

Dave

This is exactly what I did with my new cab. 30 cf. CO II with (so far) 3 lbs of beads on three levels. I'm getting 65 at the bottom and top hygros for the past 3 days. Seems to work well. The beads are around half clear half opaque white. I thought the beads would add "stabilizaton" and just in case for power outages and dunderhead non refills of the CO. Your spec says 6 lbs for this size humi. any value in my upping to 6 with this type of set-up?

With this size humi I would recommend the 6 pounds but you are not using the beads as the primary source of humidification. When using them as stabilization the 3 pound is pretty good. Just remember that the beads will desorb quicker than is normally desired but should hold the humidity long enough for the power to come back on or you get home from a trip, much longer in fact.

Now don't get me wrong here, if you want to buy 3 more pounds I will be gald to sell them to you. :r

I got permission to use that pic from the man who took it. I fell in love with it and he graciously let me use it. The first time I saw it was on another forum.

ah. maybe it was him.

I remember it (or maybe just a picture taken from the same spot by someone else?) because they wanted to learn more about photoshop and we worked on some of the grasses that blocked some of the water.

My apologies, as soon as you said grasses I knew we were talking about a different picture. The sand dune picture you are talking about was taken by my wife Donna. It was taken just outside of Bodega Bay California at a little community called Salmon Creek. This is one of our favorite places to hide from the world.

Yes you are.

I ship the beads at about 40-50% of their moisture holding capacity. They can go to work immediately. If you look real close you will see that some of the beads are fairly clear.

RH seems to stay around 70% im assuming itll stabilize down to 65% over the next few days

It may take a few days, as I recall you had a problem with real high Rh in the humi.

yea its been up to 77% i removed the credo and it stabilized after 5 days to 70% RH thats where its at now also

Let the beads soak up moisture for about three days. Then take the beads out and dry them with a hair blow dryer, should only takje a few minutes. The put the beads back in the humi. We'll get you Rh down where you want it.

Thanks Viper, it's great to see a retailer that doesn't just post his deals and split until he has something else to sell. Thanks for posting this.

Thank you,

I am a retailer but first and foremost I am a BOTL, and proud of it!
