If you were to buy 1 box of cigars.... What do you suggest I buy for my 1st box?

The most consistant cigar I have smoked has probably been the DPG Blue. Get a box of those guys.:tu(and give me a couple):ss

Actually your sig line says it all. Any size. :tu

:tpd: A box of Tatuaje brown labels or a box of Oliva S. The S has been discontinued so it is a buy you would want to make quickly before they disappear.

Another consistent smoke are the 601 reds

What ever you buy, don't buy a box just because it's on sale or seems to be a deal you can't pass up. Most really good cigars don't go on sale much or at all for a reason. Back when I was a new cigar smoker I bought a ton of smokes from cbid. While there are definately some good deals to be had there, if you look at the prices actual "top shelf" cigars sell for they are often times higher than MSRP. IMO, buy a box of your favorite cigar you have tried so far. Oliva V are a great smoke for the money and seem to age very well. I bought a few boxes from the origional release and they are smoking very well. Just wait till you get in to ISOMs, the slope gets very slippery then. Good luck on your quest!!

Oliva S - Great cigar; John bombed me one (among others) and it was awesome. Good to know they're discontinued, thank you.

For the one box, I would draw straws for one of these:

Tat Brown Unicos
Tat Red Hermosos
601 Green La Fuerza
601 Blue Robusto

Variety is the spice of life - at least that is what I have been trying to convince my wife of for 20 years.

I'd want 5 each of my 5 favorites in a box that has been aged several years. Even a fantastic cigar will leave you longing for something different - human nature being what it is.

I would buy a box of JdN Antano 1970 Consul because they're pretty cheap (<$70) and I hear they're going up in price. They are a great smoke with tons of flavor and age really well. Another great cigar is the DPG Blue label.

I picked these two because I just ordered a box of each of these:ss

I'm another vote for 5'ers, samplers, etc.

If I had to pick a box, Padron 2000 maduros. I'd enjoy about half of 'em, my friends & dad would enjoy the other half.

I find myself buying as much Pepin as I can afford to get my hands on these days. In fact, I recently commented on Skype that if I had to, I could be satisfied with buying nothing but a variety of Pepin.

buy a lot of singles, five packs, and various samplers. smoke enough till you find 4 or 5 cigars that you really like and then pull the trigger. Thats just my opinion, and kinda what i did as a newb.

:tpd: I agree too. I started buying boxes rather than singles believe it or not based on reviews of the sticks. I found that soon enough, my humi was full but I only had 6-7 choices. I have since been buying 5 packs and less expensive singles like the Padron 2000 and anything Oliva just to try. Now I have 33 different varieties of sticks in my humi from RP Connecticuts to FFOX's. I have bought two boxes of decades recently though because I am totally in love with them

To buy for myself it would be a box of La Unica Cameroon #1 Torpedos. Love that cigar. Just a treat every time. It doesn't however really fit your criteria of full medium to full because it is maybe a medium fullness at best.

For you I would recommend the Tatuaje j21. Great cigar in a convient size. Clearly you enjoy the Tats. You make no suggestions on max price so I went with a more expensive cigar. ( a box of Padron 40th anny maduros would also be lovely but set you back 500$ ) At 220-250 a box definitely not cheap but they would last a while.

Good luck with your purchase.
