Of the Opus X

But if, as the original poster stated, 90% of people like them, that would mean 10% of the people do not like them.

Wouldn't that 10% actually do 100% of the complaining? After all, what would the 90% who like them be complaining about? ;)
Wouldn't some of those 10% that didn't like them not bother to complain? That's probably a good 23.4% of them.

100% sure they are over priced.

80% sure I'd buy them if they were priced right.

50% sure I'd love them when I smoked them.

Free Opus...priceless!

Free Opus... Did somebody say "Free Opus" ? :chk

(Tongue hanging out from the mouth, drool dripping from the lips to the floor, eyes starting to lose focus and watering, body starting to shake uncontrollably. That is the symptom of hearing the word "Free Opus". It is a sickness with no cure... :ss)

100% of me agrees that I love Opus...:D or should I say :hn ?

I can remember back when I said to myself that I would stop once I hit 2k sticks in hibernation :r.

I agree with Jeremy about the plain cabs though; there is just something peaceful about seeing them sleeping in the twins. A plus is that they sure do stack easier in the Aristos then the dress boxes or 22 sets.

I generally think that 90% of the time opus x are great cigars and 10% of the time just really good ones. But I am almost 75% sure I'm nearly 63% crazy.

not that this really applies here, but anyway...

i have one original release corona size opus x left from back in the day. 50% of me says i should smoke it this weekend, the other 50% of me say i should not.

what should i do?

You should smoke 90% of the cigar and leave the 10% that's not a very good smoke. :D

Plenty of threads on how overpriced Opus are generally. Worth it at MSRP if you sit on them a few years, or save some time and money and buy a better smoke now.

There are just too many sticks that blow Opus away for less to bother with them IMO. Best smoked if you want a flashy band to name drop at partys.

I'm not saying everyone who smokes Opus is a poseur, but about 90% of them are. If you're offended by that statement, assume you're in the other 10%.

They need AT LEAST two years of age and they become great smokes.:tu So if any of you guys just bought your first, let them sit for a couple years, It will be worth the wait.

awww, I just returned from my local B&M proudly toting my first pair of OpusX to stash away in the humidor.... didnt realize just how long i would have to stash em for though - two years is a long time for an impatient newbie! :(

All this chatter about Opus has piqued my curiosity. I've got to see if I can find one locally to try. Never had one before.

I don't have any from the latest release, but I did have 4 from the prior release that have been sitting in my cooler for 5 or 6 months. I smoked 2 of them, they are good smokes. But I tend to agree, they are not the holy grail of cigars that some make them out to be. There are many readily available sticks that I like just as much.

Personally, I much prefer Anejo's over the Opus, but that's just me.
