Stone 12yr anniversary bitter chocolate oatmeal stout

I've never had this beer but I've been impressed with Stone's offerings. Unfortunately it's nigh impossible to find on this side of the pond so I only get to enjoy them twice a year.

    Jack Daniels Open Bottle

It won't have aged. Aging stops when whisky is bottled. It should be fine, however. The alcohol will act as a wonderful preservative. I am of the opinion that whisky has far more benefits than demerits so I say, give it a shot. After that shot, give it another one or two more as well.

    Wikipedia cigar articles

The problem with most places on the internent, CS included, is that anybody can write anything. Caveat emptor, learn to separate wheat from chaff and all that. Wikipedia is much maligned but studies where information from Wikipedia and other textbooks were presented to experts in various...

Didn't Think We Had These In Detroit

Well, any way out of Detroit is good. I keed, I keed.

    Smoking cigars while playing Softball?

I can't believe this is even a question. Of course cigars go with playing softball. So does beer. It's not like it's an actual athletic event, or even a real sport. Isn't the only reason we play sofball is to indulge in these vices? Or is that just me?

    1st Opus = letdown . . . need some insight

Aw hell, like any smoke you're going to get guys saying they suck and guys saying they're the dog's bollocks. Personally I've never had a burn issue with them. However, I must say that they are the most underwhelming smoke I've had. Perhaps if I bought mine at $8 as some fortunate poster did...

    A: Because it's annoying

Jiminy Christmas, if we're waiting for me to set the example we're screwed. This thread is slightly tongue-in-cheek and taking the mick. I'm just an ornery bastard that occasionally makes curmudgeonly posts. And I try to get both those words in as often as possible. New guys are posting a lot...

    The Million Dollar Question, please.

I disagree with tossing them if they're moldy. If the mold has gotten inside the cigar, ie on the foot, than certainly. I've received a few moldy cigars and I isolate them in baggies, brush the offending fuzzies off and smoke the. I have to say that I had a Cuaba Salomone that got mold spots on...

    A: Because it's annoying

But you didn't leave it at the ellipsis. While I might have preferred something more demonstrative of the subject, even I admit that's a niggling complaint. I just find titles designed to make the reader wonder what the thread is about to be incredibly annoying.

    A: Because it's annoying

Q: Why should I not make thread titles obscure? I freely admit that I'm just feeling a tad ornery because I'm home alone, drinking far too many beers, but dammit, I'm going to opine. Thread etiquette: 1) For the love of L. Ron Hubbard, post to existing threads rather than starting your own...

    Cigars in portugal.

Cheaper than the UK, yes. Not taxed, no. Decide what you want and have your friend go to a legitimate shop. You won't find a screaming deal, but you will get them far cheaper than the UK.

    How hot is "too hot"?

Weather that's 'too hot' is a foreign concept to me since I moved to London. However, I used to live in Reno and had the best summers of anywhere in the world. I had no problem smoking a cigar with a nice beverage in >90F weather. Damn, do I miss that.

Does Schlitz Malt Liquor Bull still exist? Da Bull!

    Zombie anyone?

True that. The ones I had at Trader Vic's in Emeryville were more narcotic than cocktail. Sure enough, that night I discovered I had no panties.

    Etiquette for reviews

If the thread is six months old that means that there hasn't been that much interest in the subject, at least to warrant new posts. I think that's a good argument not to start a new thread. When you make a new post in an old thread, it gets bumped to the top and everyone will see it.

    you know what I hate

ColdCuts, that was great! I'm a transplant and still trying to appreciate soccer...football. What bores me about Man U is they keep winning because they have deep pockets and can afford the players they have. Dynasties don't excite me in any sport. Give me an underdog that comes from behind and...

Let’s see your latest haul! Beer, Liquor, Wine, etc...

Beer in London is sadly unremarkable. While I can find good cask ales, I could buy just about any bottle here cheaper back home in the States. Whisky, is a different matter altogether. That's where I've been building up my absurd stash. I picked up some great bottles in Islay, but my prides and...

    Zombie anyone?

As a bit of a Tiki nerd, I can vouch for Don the Beachcomber and his recipes. The best Zombie I ever had was at Trader Vic's. Pricey, but mind-numbingly worth it.

    Etiquette for reviews

I guess it comes down to preference. Personally, and I don't think I'm alone, I like people who post in existing threads before starting their own. It makes it tidier and the information is more consolidated.

Valiant Effort..............Or at least I think so.

I started the post, but didn't finish. It seemed very well thought out, but I hate the typeface and colour so couldn't read it. Hey, I'm a designer. Those sort of things matter to me.
