When was the last time you were WOWED...

Had an Oliva Special S the other night and was really wowed by it. Thought it would be just another cigar, but the flavors were great, it was very smooth, and smoked well. It was my first, but not my last. I was impressed.

Smoking man cave ready for operation

Chris, it's a poinsettia flower ashtray. Got it for a quarter at a yard sale at the church. Wife wanted to put candy in it. I needed an ashtray. Candy is bad for your health!!

    Should I or Shouldn't I?

I'd rather use the $400, if it's disposable, on some really good smokes. I could store them at home, which is where I enjoy most of my sticks. Right now with tough times, my wife would hide the $400 from me and probably pay some stupid bills (some of which have cigars charges on them anyway :D).

    Reviving old cigars

Supposedly so. It takes some time. You want to do it slowly. If subjected to big humidity changes to hasten the process, they may/will split. I tried to revive an old AF a buddy had in a box in his closet. Probably a year old in house humidity (40-50%). It had already dried a little and was...

Turning 30 in a couple weeks! What to smoke?

I'd go for a Padron 40th or Padron 80th Anniversary. Reason, I love Padron 1926s and these are cream of the crop, made for special occasions. $25 -$30 for a cigar is a great way to remember it. Plus it costs $1 per year of your existence. :tu

    Birth announcement cigar thoughts...

Congrat to you and the better half, Ritchie! I, too, vote for the AF 858, but being a maduro fan, recommend the maduro. Get a box of each, boy and girl. You will enjoy the leftovers.

    Cigar packed too tightly?

Be on the lookout for a piece of small diameter metal rod. I found one, stainless, about the size of an uncooked spaghetti noodle. I sharpened one end and capped the other. It works great on those aggrevating plugged sticks. When using a draw poker, remember two terms...straight is the only way...

Smoking man cave ready for operation

The doorway at the top of the steps leads to the wash room, which has another door to the house in it. That door seals really well and if any smoke does comes in (with bathroom visits), it very minimal and stays in the wash room. The wife generally tolerates it. And, Stevie, very nice man...
