    san cristabol

:tpd: I don't know what it is, all the factors should have added up to a cigar that I would love, but it just doesn't do anything for me.

My First Review: CAO America Torpedo

Good review! I tried one when they first came out and I didn't enjoy the cigar at all. I did buy two, so I let the other sit in the bottom of the humi for about five or six months. Time improves this line, I still don't enjoy it but that doesn't mean you won't.

    San Cristobal Maestro

I've tried it a couple of times, but never been impressed.

    temperature leeway?

As long as your RH% is controlled I don't think that mold should be a problem. With higher temperatures come beetle problems. I don't have a way to control the temperature in my 40 count and tupperdor and recently had to freeze all of my cigars because I found a cigar with suspicious wrapper...

    In Denial or Incognito?

I don't have to go stealth, but my wife doesn't like cigars either. I get that look whenever a package arrives in the mail or I come back with a bag from the B&M. Our agreed rules are that I don't smoke inside the apartment and I don't smoke around her. I've been known to go for long walks...

    "Neighbor" etiquette?

I live in an apartment complex, so I don't light up when there are kids outside playing, but if there aren't all bets are off. Statewide smoking ban, so you want to be out of my smoke, go to a bar.

    The Burner by Alec Bradley

The B&M near my apartment has one out for customers to use. Great lighter, I love using it when I'm there. If I were allowed to smoke inside, I would pick one up in a flash.

    Humidor Seal Fix

You could also try using some weather stripping to improve the humi's seal. I'd test the hygrometer's again. How long did you test them for the first time round?

    Humidor Seal Fix

Go to your local hardware store, Home Depot or Lowes will probably have the weather stripping in stock. Forgot about the hygrometer issue. Are the two different units right next to each other in the humi, or are they in different places. How far away are they from the humidity source? In a...

OH man, I have too many cigars....newbie problem???

You obviously haven't talked to my wife, as much as I love her we disagree on this point. As for storage, I second the tupperware recommendation, if you're worried about humidity pop down to the local B&M and they should have something like a water pillow that can work on the short term.

    Snapware Tupperdor

Maybe you've been adding too much water to your beads. With the lack of airflow I've found that I really don't need to add much water to them at all.

    Well I Did It

You are a braver man than I am. I'm still on a small 40 count and a tupperdor.

Out of storage space -Help required !

You could just use a cooler as a cheaper alternative to a cabinet (though it won't look as nice).

    Tatuaje Especiales

As always, great review! Got to love the Tats. In the first picture, is that an Asthon VSG peeking out of your travel humi?

What in the world motivated you to start smoking cigars, anyways???

Friend in Japan tried to get me into cigarettes. Didn't work, so one day after we had way too much to drink he handed me a machine made "Game," which intrigued me. Once back in the states I graduated to Acid cigars, and then finally tried a real cigar and was hooked.

    Chest for Humi.

What kind of cedar is it made out of? The spanish cedar in humidors is not the same kind of wood as normal cedar, the smell of which will be imparted to your cigars. Unless you want all of your cigars to taste like cedar than I wouldn't suggest it.

Newbie first read of a Hemmingway Short Story

Great review. The Short Story is one of my favorite cigars. Now I always have a few in the humi. Also picked up some Hemingway Signature from Rob at Taboo so I can explore the blend a bit more (sometimes a Short Story is just too short even though they last me about an hour).

    Snapware Tupperdor

Since the dry environment here in Colorado makes keeping decent humidity a pain in the behind, I use one as a second humi. It started as an overflow box, but really, when considering the effort it just turned into permanent storage.
