    Short cigar questions...

Yeah, there's nothing short about the smoke-time of a NUB. They're stout, but they smoke just as long, if not longer than any 5x50 robusto I've ever had, and those usually last me 1-1 1/2 hours.

PROJECT: Cigar Band Poker Table (warning: many pictures)

I'm hoping to do something similar to this to my laptop. Is there an epoxy I could use that would be thinner? I'm thinking of something less than 1/8", with only one layer of bands. Also, where did you get the epoxy? And as far as working with the epoxy goes, can it be sanded after it's fully...

I have the coolest teacher ever

I second that. Make the speech outside while smoking, if possible. How big a class? If financially feasible I'd bring in a small swisher for everyone, and then a real cigar (although depending on class size this could be a bank-breaker. Sancho Panza Double maddies come to mind...) to show the...

What's your favorite size and shape

My favorite size is still within an inch/3rg of a Robusto, Robusto being the most common. I don't like much thinner than 45, and anything bigger than 58-60 and you're just begging for a bad burn. A good 5x50 robusto is the perfect size for a solid 45-60 minutes of glory, without burning so hot...

    Do you keep your bands?

I've been keeping mine. I've got a project in mind. I'm going to "re-finish" my laptop. I've got about 50-75, I figure once I'm above 200 I'll have enough for adequate cover. At my current rate I should have enough within 5-6 months, and it's something I certainly don't mind working towards, lol.

    Just Got My MRN!!

MRN? I know I've seen the full title on here before, but I won't be able to search because it doesn't meet the search-term length requirement. What's the full title on this one again?

    Favorite summer drink

Do yourself a favor and don't buy the premixed versions (Bacardi, Smirnoff, Mike's, etc.) Find a recipe (I think the Bacardi recipe is easy enough, and simple) and make them yourself, or find a bar that will make you one. SOOOOOOO worth the time/effort.

Fife - Smokey Joe's Cigar Lounge

Something came up last week, and I couldn't make it. Not only is tomorrow payday, but I don't have plans. What time do you boys usually get there? I'll (hopefully) be arriving in a bright red '02 Firebird. Probably with the tops off if the weather stays anything like it has been recently.

    Our Best and Brightest.

Excellent story, thanks for sharing! There's no end to my respect for the men serving this country, and I hope to be one within the next year. Any cigar would've been special, but what'd you smoke?

Thanks for the friend request. And I agree with the herf together to be friends thing. Are you a Smokey Joe's Tuesday Regular? I'm going to be there next week for my first herf, and first time at Smokey Joes, and I'm stoked to meet some local LLG's.

    Best Cigar Cutters?

I've never used a Palio, but I prefer the palm/hand movement to the individual fingers. I feel more steady using my hand/palm. For this reason, I love my Xikar. I don't doubt the cutting ability of the Palio, but I'm more comfortable with the Xikar's movement, and it hasn't let me down in 3 years.

    Smoke less but smoke better

This is my current mentality to the T. I enjoy trying new things, and whittling down my tastes to what I know I like. My humidor is full of 15-30 new cigars that I eagerly await the chance to try. By the end of the summer, I've already got a list of 4 boxes I really, really want to have because...

    Good creamy sweet cigars?

I just had a Coronado by La Flor Dominicana a few nights ago, and that's exactly how I'd describe it. Tons of smoke, nice creamy/sweet flavor. I'm pretty sure I overpaid at $9 too, as I bought it at a QFC.

I need a kick in the mouf...

If you like pepper, and you like a full-bodied smoke you really can't go wrong with a Pepin Blue. At least not as far as I'm concerned. His black label is a bit more mild but I still love them, and the JJ is amazing but also a bit more pricey.

I need a kick in the mouf...

I'm going to suggest Oliva Serie O or G. Both are full-flavored, and boxes are easy to find under $120. Or Don Pepin Garcia Blue Labels if you don't mind a little pepper. You can get a box of robustos for $120 or so.

    smokey joes in WA

I've been meaning to make it down there for a Tuesday herf (Which would/will be my first 3+ person herf) for quite some time, but have yet to succeed due to my work schedule. Next Wednesday a new schedule starts with Mondays and Tuesdays off, so I should finally be able to stop by!

Well damn, that was quick. Good to hear it's spoken for.

    Operation move that cabinet humidor.

Is this already taken care of? I'm heading down to Seaside, OR in 2 weeks, and would be willing to take it as far as 50-100 miles south of there on I-5 to help out. I'll be leaving on the 18th of this month. Let me know if that's of any use in this mission.

    Chip Dip

My friend's mom has the most incredible bean dip... I don't know the exact measurements, but it consists of refried beans, cream cheese, salsa, sliced black olives, ranch dip seasoning, and shredded cheese melted on the top. Or my grandpa's Razor clam dip. Both are a rare treat, and fly off the...

    How often do you Smoke

That's definitely the tough part of that philosophy. Same thing with me, but replace the pipe with a hookah.
