Are the opus x's worth it?

at a local b&M store down here by my mall, they sell them anywhere from $25 and up !:chk Then I say ...no...they are not worth it. But if you buy them from the net at msrp, then yes they are worth it ! :ss

I've had three Opus X's. All three were very good and very strong. I was gifted all three by my very generous father-in-law:tu. I've had better cigars and IMHO I don't believe any cigar is worth >$10. You can find great cigars for $5. If you haven't smoke an opus x and can find them for MSRP you should try it but don't drop $35 on one.:2

Subjective? Yes, IMHO, I like them, but only after letting them rest for an extended amount of time. I purchase several each time they are released, and put them down. Recently i pulled one out that had about two years of aging on it and it smoked very well. :cb

Authorized Fuente dealers. Doubt many out there now because they are sold out at most places. I picked up a 3 pack tin and 4 singles in July from my B&M at MSRP.

not all authroized dealers have them at msrp. a local mall store that is an authorized dealer sells them here for 5-10$ above msrp.

You need to be clear-headed when popping for, and smoking such a cigar.

I am rarely clear-headed when I settle down with a cigar.

Therefore, I am disqualified from a qualified opinion in this thread.

Ahh well... Guess I'll pour a frosty-cold beer, enjoy a $4 cigar, and enjoy reading!!!

Are you taking into account taxes?

I'm sure some authorized don't, but they are supposed to and can be reported.

Damn right. Only ethical B&M's who care about their repeat clients sell them at msrp. Then there's huge retailers like Corona who know the Fuentes personally as chose to assrape people regardless of the amount of times they shop and bring people in to herf.

That's why you gotta turn people like Dennis on to your local B&M who takes care of their regulars.

I have a good friend who wrote to Fuente complaining about Corona charging 30 bucks a stick and never heard back.

They are good cigars though.

So I am still unsure if they are worth it lol. Went by the B&M and they didnt have one instock, not even an expensive one sat. Didn't have enough time to head north for 30 min to check out the 2 B&Ms up north. Settled for a Padron Ann. 26 no.9 maduro, and a rocky patel olde world reserv. toro. Both of which were DELICIOUS!

Bottom line: Opus X cigars are very well made premium cigars that are reasonably priced in terms of MSRP.

These cigars are not for everyone, just as Guinness is not a beer for everyone. Opus X cigars are full bodied, spicy cigars, and different people have different tastes.

Are they worth it? That depends on your personal preferences.

I''ll trade you Padron Ann26's for the rest of my Opus. You have a dozen or so? If not, Anejos will be fine!!!

Oh crap, now Moki's talkin about my beer Guiness. I love that stuff and plan on heading to the English pub to have one properly poured this Friday. That's another subject about how different Guinesss can taste if poured properly in a pint.

:tpd:

For my personal taste, I find them quite strong.

But the question was,are they work paying double to triple the MSRP. If you have yet to smoke one, such as myself, you really dont have a preference to go off of. Was just wondering if paying 3 times the value was worth the smoke in those who have tried its opinion.

Yes, If you can get them @ MSRP. Money well spent. They are strong though!! Smoked a fresh one last month and it had me laying on the floor for 20minutes. So, I put the rest of my Opus in a coma. Might wake a few up next spring:)

yes i'm taking into account taxes. i've thought about reporting them. i can walk right into tampa sweethearts and pay 9.78 for an anejo but the same mall store charges 14.95. they both are in the same state and they are definately overcharging compared to msrp. last time i saw opus there they wanted 15$ for one XXX. i paid less than that at sosa cigars which is in disney.

so here's the delima. do i report them or just say nothing. they have 3 pack tins there right now for 69.99 for the robusto's. crazy eh? look up mr. d's tobacco on the fuente opus x list.
