Blazer PB-207cr

Somebody on here said that the " Prince pocket torch" which is the Japan rip off of the Blazer PB-207 is a piece. Well let me say this. I do not smoke expensive cigars and I'm not rich and I own one of those cheap rip off's. I have owned my Prince pocket torch for 8 years and never ever had a problem with it and I paid $5 for it at a flea market. There is no difference between the two, except the price. I also own several other lighters, but the Prince is my favorite. Who ever said Colibri is junk doesn't know much about lighters either. The only time you have problems with these type of lighters is when you don't fill them correctly and when you go from inside where it is cold to 90 degree weather or the other way around. From the nice warm house to the freezing cold outdoors. That is why some of the better lighters come with an adjustment on them. So you can get the pressure correct. Butane lighters are touchy they don't like temperature changes and they certainly don't have a brain. So sometimes there owners might have to adjust them to get them to light. If you want dependability, buy a Zippo and enjoy the taste of lighter fluid, yummy. With that said I think it's time to smoke a Newport!!

Matt more or less explained it in post 16 I think

In some countries the PB-207 is branded "Prince" whereas in other countries it is branded "Blazer". In both cases it is a model PB-207. Since you clearly don't get what the letters "PB" stand for in the model number; Prince Blazer. Same lighter, same plant, same assembly line, a different sticker on one spot..

Reading all the posts has just about confirmed my purchase of this. [Knock on wood] My Colibri Firebird has been good so far, but I am tired of filling it up. I'm gonna pony up for one in the next week or so. The weather is only getting nicer & I'm enjoying about 1 a day. So I'm gonna want that big resevoir.

You should be good for many cigars with one fill up. I am surprised how long it goes between refills.

Very sorry for the mistake. Was thinking lighter, not cigar at the time. Thanks for the friendly warning.

I've used Vector and Blazer and never had a problem with either.

Just don't use Ronson. Fastest way to screw up a good lighter. If thats all you have, use matches.

Vector is the best, and the only one that goes into my Blazers.

Another very good point. Ronson will clog your lighter up in no time. If I'm not mistaken, that voids the warranty also?

Ok going to call a foul on this. Mine was a gift. Never read alot on what to use how to use and etc. I asked the person that sent it to me what fule he used and he said Ronson. Many refills later and no problem. It is still running fine. No problems at all. Click flame and I am off and going.

I just have to ask what the hell is going to clog a lighter with a gas? Its a gas, no solids. What is going to clog what? How much of the hype for triple refined this and that will people buy into???? Butane is butane. Good lighter will run, bad lighters look for better fule and more tweaking?? Or is it just a bad lighter? My 207 has been running like a champ for months on Ronson. Lights works and no worries. BAH I aint buying into it

I called Blazer on a unrelated issue and asked which fuel I should use in the 207. They were pushing the Blazer brand. The guy in customer support / repairs told me not to use Ronson. That he had several torch lighter up there for clogged port repairs due to bad fuel.
That could have been a push to the Blazer butane, I have no idea. All I know is I have no problems with Vector. Except for one now, its about 1.50 more then the cost of Ronson
It was my understanding from reading here to use the triple refined. Trust me had I known Ronson wouldn't cause a problem, I would have bought it.

Stacey,
All of the "butanes" are hydrocarbons ... some are a higher % butane than others. If they allow some high molecular weight stuff into the mix, when the butane evaporates, the higher MW stuff is left as a liquid. It is soluble in the liquified butane but much less volatile. Add one CH2 to butane and you have the liquid pentane. I haven't analysed these "butanes" by GCMS to determine the % of higher molecular weight hydrocarbons in them, but I'd be willing to bet, based on past experience, that Ronson has more of the larger molecules that would tend to clog the lighters with liquid than King, Vector or some of the "better" butanes. Thats my :2 and I'm sticking with it!

:tpd:
Makes sense to me(whatever it was Sean said), I used to use it and started having clogging problems. So I got to searching around CS for answers and was told not to use Ronson. I quit and have had few or no problems since.

EHHHHHHHHHH don't confuse me with the facts :r

And I see where your coming from. And can see where there is some concern. I guess I am one of the few that does not have any issues with Ronson. And no I do not own stock :) Many cans used and so far so good. Just going by what I have dealt with first hand. If I start having issues with clogging, I will know why.

Maybe you got a good box code? Hehe.

HEHEHE, I just googled PB-207 and the first site to come up was some chemistry site. Apparently Pb is the symbol for Lead, which has an atomic weight of 207. Wonder how they came up with that particular name for this lighter.

The PB stands for Prince Blazer Its sold under different names depending on where its offered. Doc. Stogie Fresh http://www.stogiefresh.com/ has a review of the lighter. DO a search for his posts and PB207 on CS.
The Original Blazer PB-207 was pulled from the US market some time ago. Now they added the consumer warning and restriction on who could purchase them within the USA. However, It's available in the US once again.
There are two types being sold the 207 and the 207cr the "cr" denotes a child resistant device.
I hope that helps..
