This is what I use. This thing has a nice history. It was brought home by my grandfather from the WW2 Pacific theater, Japan. I'm lucky enough to be the owner of it now. I'm sure it's obvious, but it's the bottom of a bullet shell.

That's awesome!!! :tu

Is there a 3rd rest that is missing? Very cool idea to make an ash tray out of a shell. I have a large 3in.50cal. that I picked up at a garage sale, but I wouldn't want to cut it up.

This is a picture of my "summer" ashtray (the fire pit). The deer like the apples from a nearby tree. While they don't like smoke (or people), it seems that Monarch butterflies DO like cigar smoke. They always seem to show up and fly close by when I light up a cigar. In the winter, I freeze in the garage with an "Ashton" ashtray.

My ashtray. Picked it up at a second-hand store. I think it's a promo for German beer, but hell if I know for sure.

....and here's where it rests:

Here's my 2 newest ashtrays plus my new Siglo torch. I love to set my 'gar on top of "the Hat". Makes me feel like a real "All-dirtan".

Yep, it's a promo for a beer from the Cologne area of Germany. The style of beer is called Kolsch, and Reissdorf is the brand. It's a pretty tasty beer, but there's better out there for the style. Cool ashtray nonetheless.

^^^^^^

Thats a great ashtray....

I'd use it!!! Heck, I'd think I was smokin' in high style resting a stogie on that ashtray.

very nice!

I think this is one of the coolest ashtrays I have seen in some time.

The CAO Cubist.

That is the one I have, a gift from my best friend. No CAO letters remaining on mine though, some fell off others were coaxed. I still have them and may eventually reglue them. I've also thought about taking my Dremel to it and grinding down the lettered areas that are slightly recessed to make the letters fit properly. I wonder what color is beneath the flat black glaze?

Or, I could just get a Stinky!
