    La Aurora 100 Anos Perfecto

I don't care for any of the other La Aurora offerings, but the 100 años coronas are really good.

    Am I Really Crazy?

I've inhaled by accident a couple of times: not a pleasant experience nor one I would care to repeat. Even though I don't inhale, I expel about 25% of every puff through my nose. Why not give all your olfactory nerves a chance to enjoy? I remember it was a bit uncomfortable the first couple of...

    Amsterdam's new smoking ban

Thanks for the invitation. I don't think I'm going to have the opportunity for any "adult time" and if I did, to be honest, I'd probably prefer to hit one of the coffee shops. :w The trip to A'dam was actually my mother's idea. If I had my druthers, I would prefer to visit Leiden, which has...

    Amsterdam's new smoking ban

I'll be visiting A'dam in August. I grew up just an overnight ferry ride away and I visited the city several times in my youth. This time will be a bit different: I will be accompanied by my 80yo mother, my 14yo daughter and her 14yo cousin. I am not expecting to spend much time in the coffee...

    St. Arnold's Brewery, Houston

Nope, it's gone. Same story all over. Sold out within hours.

    St. Arnold's Brewery, Houston

Divine is very limited production and very hard to come by. Don't plan on driving or operating any heavy machinery after drinking it. I didn't see it offered last time I visited the brewery a couple of weeks ago.

How long will you hang in there before you chuck a lousy cigar?

:tpd: I'll ditch a cigar after 5 minutes if I can't get a draw. I'm much more patient if it's just a question of the flavor.

    Cubans not as disgusting

Well, I think the opposite is true in my wife's case. Judging from the cigar boxes in the garage full of screws and other small pieces of hardware, my wife's father was no connoisseur. Given that her father's death was directly attributable to his cigar-smoking habit, I feel lucky that my...

    Cubans not as disgusting

I've heard my wife claiming that she can tell "the good stuff." She has never smoked, but her dad used to smoke cigars around the house when she was growing up.

    No Anejos until Christmas?

That's also what I thought, only I thought Añejos were every other year. My B&M just got in three boxes of Opus X but I just can't be bothered this time around.

    Evolving or Devolving?

Heh! I say! I say! My dog has no nose! Your dog has no nose?! But how does he smell? (All together now...) Awful!

    Evolving or Devolving?

Maybe one factor to take into account: research shows that one's olfactory sensitivity, specifically one's ability to identify smells, drops off sharply after age 60.

    Urthel Tripel

I bet you Belgian beer aficionados are already familiar with this brew, but it was a new one one me. I picked it up at the liquor store a couple of weeks ago on a friend's recommendation. It lay almost forgotten at the bottom of the fridge until last night. Served fridge temperature in a Chimay...

How many "cabinents" do you own

"More than 1 but less than 3"? What was wrong with "2"? And what if I owned exactly three? There's no option for me to pick. I have zero. Two coolers for long term storage and a desktop humi for "cigar death row." I crave an Aristocrat, but there are too many things I need to take care of first.

    Storing Lots of Cigars

It's called T.A.D. (Tobacco Acquisition Disorder). Mostly, for me it's when I see a good price on a brand I like. I like to have a variety of cigars on hand. I don't like to smoke the same thing day in day out. Some cigars I like to save for special occasions. Before you know where you are...

    Foot Mold

Wiping it off the foot isn't going to help if it's got into the body of the cigar. I would clip off 1/2" or so off the foot and check before smoking.

Can white mold affect the taste in a positive way?

Jeez, well, it depends if you enjoy the aroma of musty clothes and crumbling books stored too long in the attic.

Is it possible to Smoke inside without the wife freaking out?????

I sure as hell would not risk it. People who do not smoke are much more sensitive to the smell of smoke than people who do. And while I've heard my wife claim that she can "tell the good stuff" (her dad used to smoke dog rockets around the house), she's no more tolerant for it. I do most of my...

    Ashton VSG Illusion

Thanks for the review. The VSG Illusion used to be one of my favorite cigars. I haven't had one in a while. Might be time to revisit.

    traveling/vacationing with cigars

Get yourself an Otterbox. You can pick up a 5-count for about $20 or a 15-count for around $30. It'll last you for years. http://www.google.com/products?hl=en&q=otterbox+cigar+caddy&um=1&ie=UTF-8
