    Suggestions to age 9mos?

I had the oliva O churchhill yesterday and loved it, but it kicked my ass. First third seemed to have a bit of 'bite' to it, and when I got up after I got the dizzys. Almost as bad as a LFD. Did I just get a strong one? I'm worried they're too strong for new/occassional smokers. A smaller...

When was the last time you were WOWED...

The first, aged Trinidad Fundadores. Most recent, Olivia Series V lancero. With plenty of Hemmie maduros, RP Sungrown Selects, and Perdomo Reserve Cammies in between. The only cigar over $8 (hemmingway maddy) to ever WOW me was the Fundadores. The most common are the RG SG's, for under $2...

    Suggestions to age 9mos?

Wow, thanks for the great suggestions guys. Still looking around, but the Olivia line looks the best so far. Inexpensive, tasty, and the presentation is very nice, so a good all-arounder for the smokers and the non-smokers that will just toss them. As far as the series, i've tried the V...

    Suggestions to age 9mos?

I haven't been around much the last couple months, money's tight, I was laid off a few weeks, so I haven't really been buying or keeping up with cigars trying to save some cash. Now we're entering the slowest sales season of the year, so my commission checks will be even lower. As SOP, the...

    Of the Opus X

Plenty of threads on how overpriced Opus are generally. Worth it at MSRP if you sit on them a few years, or save some time and money and buy a better smoke now. There are just too many sticks that blow Opus away for less to bother with them IMO. Best smoked if you want a flashy band to name...

    Perdomo Fresh Rolled Torpedo

I agree these taste like crap when new IMO. I like Perdomos alot and have been sitting on a half-bundle of these. After 6+ months, they are starting to become bearable. I had one last night (robusto) and can tell there is starting to be something there, but they need a lot more time. Still...

    Smoking stogies and sinuses?

My buddy uses these too. I think he's crazy, but he raves about how well they work. He doesn't do anything like every night, maybe once a week keeps him cleared up during allergy season.

    Cubao #4

This is what started me on Pepin, and from the first convinced me he wasn't just a bunch of hype and PR. One of the best sticks i've ever had.

    opus x

I could grab a dozen locally every year at a bit over MSRP. But honestly, I don't buy them anymore. Overpay for a mediocre stick that I won't even enjoy for 5+ years? No thanks. They're good, but not exactly 18-year-old-swedish-twins good, despite what many will lead you to believe. Much...

    Fuente 8-5-8..where to get them?

There was a B&M in the norther suburbs that had a box of Sungrowns at MSRP. Can't recall the name but they had a 'private' pay-only area, so I left and haven't been back. I smoked a few and found them nothing special, the other SG sizes were much more enjoyable IMO.

    Vibe Corojo Robusto

Nice picks, two of my favorites. Haven't tried the Solomon Kane books, but i've read all his Conan stuff.

    1st Opus = letdown . . . need some insight

I have smoked quite afew opus over the last few years, up to 4 years old, and I haven't really liked any of them. Even if I could find them at MSRP there are quite a few cigars in the $8-$10 bracket that taste MUCH better, as soon as I buy them. On that note, I would never buy a stick that...

My First Review: CAO America Torpedo

My first was similar when they first came out. Dull and tasteless. So I grabbed another and have it sitting in my Humi. When I smoke this one on July 4th it will have been in my humi for 7-8 months. I'll do a post-holiday review, but this one wasn't very encouraging... :hn

    Worst cigar you've ever had?

Drew Estate "The Egg" seemed to be made of floor sweepings 'infused' with cyanide.

    How well-known/respected is Sosa?

I had one last week and it was ****ing GREAT! I don't usually go in for mild cigars, and for me Fuente is hit-or-miss, but i'll definitely be picking up a few more Sosa's next time I hit the B&M. A little pricey for me though, maybe i'll get lucky and find them on Joe someday? :ss

    Evolving or Devolving?

HA! The backwoods work their magic again! I've long defended them, and I just bought my first envelope. Perhaps I was lucky because when i started smoking cigars I would usually smoke with a buddy who always carried Backwoods. I would mooch one every night, and end up comparing it to...

What brand as let you down the most?

Gurkhas. Padron X000's. Just don't get it, though the Londres are excellent. Most of the popular Fuentes. I don't really like Opus, Sungrowns, Hemmingways, or 858's. However I really like the Don Carlos, Maduro Hemmingways, Exquisitos, and DCMs.

Fuente Fuente Opus X or a Habano

IMO, and experience, I have found many, many cigars, both CC and NC, that are not only much better than Opus, but much cheaper and easier to acquire. Go into every cigar experience with an open mind and no preconceived notions. You will be (happily) surprised to find that many of your...

    How much Spitting?

Yeah, I spit to clear the harsh nicotene taste. Or drink something. I noticed I spit more with stronger cigars.

UPS Store told me shipping cigars was "illegal"

Yeah some girl gave me the same about a yer ago. I didn't even argue, I just use USPS now. Cheaper and faster anyway. :tu
