I'm going to go against the trend here and recommend the Ashton over the Padron. Based upon the cigars that I've smoked, I find the Ashton VSG to be smoother, richer, and more flavorful than the Padron Anniversary. Do make sure you throw in some Tres Mystiques! They are great short smokes. :)

I've only smoked one Opus X so far which was a really good smoke. However, I've had three Anejos all of which were superb and as good as the others.

How can you tell the difference? Is there something on the label or box indicating the origin?
