hmmm....what to post here that will add anything not already indicated by the title of the post...How about, is it on a regular schedule or just every so often?

    cigar weekend

With my new job I don't spend nearly as much time on Club Stogie as I used to so I haven't posted in a while, but I just had to post about my upcoming weekend. Leaving tomorrow afternoon for four days at Deep Creek lake in Western Maryland with about 9 other guys. We plan to smoke cigar after...

    I have discovered low humidity!

I have been a closet 70% rh guy. I don't know why, except I worry about my cigars drying out and cracking. My cooler is at 70% right now. But my desktop was dropping and I thought "meh, let's see what happens." It is at around 65% now and has been for a few weeks. Let me say that my cigars...

    tobacco flakes = beetles?

I noticed little bits of tobacco in the cello of a casa torano yesterday. I promptly took it out of the cello and examined it. There were no holes that I could see and no bits fell out of the foot when I tapped it. I smoked it that afternoon and did not notice any extra flavors or popping...

    new job=less posts

I have been a physics teacher for 14 years (hence the name fizguy). The past year or so I spent a lot of time on CS while I was at school. :bn On Monday I start a new job as an engineer (some of you may remember my posts about the process). I suspect I will have less time to read and post...

I found a new breakfast smoke

Last week I was putting the finishing touches on packing for our vacation and decided to light up since I was outside anyway. On a whim I grabbed a Carlos Torano Exodus silver, mostly because it is a robusto and I didn't have much time. I am surprised and happy to say that it made for an...

the continuing saga of my damaged box of tats

I posted the other day that when I opened the box of tatuaje red label torpedos half of them were damaged. CI has good customer service and immediately sent out 12 replacement sticks, which I received today. They were well packaged in bubble wrap and air pillows with humidification devices and...

    Box of damaged tats

I bought a box of artistas (red label torpedos) from CI and had them delivered to work. They arrived yesterday and when I arrived home I eagerly opened the box, took off the tissue paper, and found that fully 12 of them were severely damaged. The wrapper was unravelling at the head and tobacco...

How do you know when your Ronson Jetlite is filled?

I can never tell, when adding fuel to my ronson, when to stop. Sometimes I think it is filling with some leaking as it fills and other times I wonder if I am just wasting fuel by continuing to add it when it is just leaking out (i.e. full). Any advice?

    prices at CI vs. NewHavana

Cigars International lists their price for a box of Tatuaje Brown Label Regios (robustos) at $166 but I have never seen them listed as In Stock. NewHavanacigars lists at $225 and they are almost always in stock. Has anyone ever actually purchased them at CI? What gives?

    guess I overdid it

I enjoyed a herf at a friend's house on Saturday night. He cooked up some shrimp on the grill as well as burgers and hot dogs. He also provided the Hop Devil and Double Bock. In the 3 hours I was there I had some shrimp, a couple burgers, and two beers. But I think I overdid it when it came...

odor on clothes...how long it lingers

I enjoy the lingering odor after I have smoked a cigar. However, today I am going for a job interview and have a nice new suit (my belly seems a little too big for my old suit...it must have shrunk or something). I thought it would be nice to relax with a cigar on the drive home but since I...

    martini advice

Next time I make a trip to the mega-liquor store I plan to pick up some scotch, some gin, and some vermouth. I have convinced myself that I like tanqueray better than bombay sapphire so the gin will either be tanq or beefeater, depending on the price differential. I enjoy a nice gin and tonic...

You know club stogie is your second home when...

two people have now asked you to get their humidors up and running and you enjoy every moment of it. you think about which cigars from you stash you could tuck into the humi when you give it back. you get out of a meeting a little early and decide to use the extra time to go to the B&M in...

7 days and a bonus (and counting)

Last week I noticed I had enjoyed at least one cigar per day each day of the week. Normally I am a 2-5 per week smoker but when the nice weather came I ramped up a bit. Once I made the realization I made it a goal to maintain that rate for the whole week, and I am glad to announce that I...

    a new personal record

I have been waiting for warmer weather to arrive, promising myself I would smoke cigars quite often when it came. I just realized today that I have had a cigar every day this week so if I can get one in tomorrow (Friday) and saturday, I will have had at least one every day for a week. This...

    My bible smells like smoke

Yesterday (Sunday) morning I was out on my patio drinking coffee, smoking a casa torano (yum!), and reading my bible. It was a pleasant start to the day. Fast forward an hour or so...I am sitting in church with my bible (it has a leather cover) in my lap and....sniff, sniff....mmmmmm I smell a...

Are you an aroma smoker? Try a Hoyo de Monterrey

My lovely wife is away for the weekend and that means extra work for me taking care of the kids but it also means more cigars! Last night I took the little DVD player on the patio and lit up a HdM excalibur #1 (I think it is #1...churchill). The robusto size of this cigar is listed on CA's top...

    increasing or decreasing strength?

When you smoke more than one cigar in a particular day, do you tend to smoke the stronger ones first or last? Is it the "beer then liquor, never sicker" (i.e. stronger ones first) principle? I am going to a herf this evening and plan to smoke one on the way, eat a little, smoke another one...
