While clearing out my Uncle's basement...

I always remembered him smoking cigars, but I was young and didn't pay attention. Check out these old Fuente 8-5-8 boxes I found. Any guesses as to how ole the boxes are? I also found about 60 "glass tubes" from cigars too. It's both too bad, and a good thing that they weren't full...

    Toraño Virtuoso

I picked up a Toraño Virtuoso the other day for whatever reason. I dig this cigar a lot. For a dark cigar, it's sweet, but not overly so. Kinda like a Toraño Silver, but more subtle. Great smoke if you have a chance to try one. Only about $6 too...

    "Neighbor" etiquette?

What's the proper etiquette for smoking when your neighbors are "down wind" of you? Just curious....

Sweet....the wife left for the night!

About 10min after my wife put our son down, she popped in the living room and told me she's going to a birthday party. This buys me a good 3-hrs to burn one. I'm off to the humidor to pull something special...I'll report back from the porch when I've got one lit! :: scurrying off ::

Gift ideas for the B&M Owner?

I was trying to think of something to get the owner of my local B&M for Christmas. I started looking for a vintage cutter, or something lie that for the shop. (One of those table-mount ones.) Any ideas?

    Me smoking in a magazine...

I thought this pic came out pretty cool. It's for an article that a trade publication is doing on me. We were at the photo shoot and I was BS-ing with one of the photographer assistants about going to my B&M after the shoot to have a cigar. The Photographer overheard it and asked if he could...

    Being sick sucks...

So I got a bunch of cool cigars last week that I was all pumped to try last weekend...and then I couldn't for a few reasons. O-Well...there is always lunchtime during the work-week. Then today I woke up with a sore throat...compliments of my 13mo son. I tried a petite corona after...

    Montecristo H-2000 Buena Fortuna Review

I have a few hours to kill tonight, and enjoyed doing a review earlier today, so I decided to search out and see what else I had that nobody'd reviewed yet. I bought a box of Montecristo Peruvians a few weeks ago because they came with a free humidor. I won't get into the humidor, but the...

    Genuine Counterfeit Cuban Corona Review

A few months ago when I started getting "serious" about cigars, I ran across a JR catalog (imagine that) and started leafing through it. When I came across the "Genuine Counterfeit Cuban Cigars" I was immediately intrigued. My initial reaction was that of most people. "They can't be THAT...

    Solon - Port Royal Cigars

Port Royal Cigar 33540 Aurora Rd Solon, OH 44139 (440) 914-0500 Great place to hang out and burn a few. They have a 15 X 18 humidor room, and a "back Club" with 6-8 big puffy leather couches and a plasma TV to watch movies on. Nick is a great guy and knows his stuff on cigars. I've had MANY...

    Romeo Y Julieta 1875 "Bully"

Normally, I start by trying to find the "Official" website for a cigar to read what the company says....I can't find one for Romeo Y Julieta (other than habanos.com) so I'll go with what I found at a cigar retailer. Not a lot of help...so let's fire one up!

    My new go-to cigar...

I've been a 'punch' guy for a long time, and just today 'interviewed' a new 5X50...the Romeo y Julieta "Bully". I'm in love... ...that is all.

    Perdomo Fresco

So I figured while I'm in the "review a Perdomo" mode, I'd round it out with their "budget" line. The Fresco is a Nicaraguan Handmade cigar. From Perdomo's Website... Translation...$2.50 cigar that shouldn't taste like a "Black & Mild" Let's dig in and see what we end up with!

    Perdomo Habano Corojo Robusto

I went into my FNCS today to take pics of their Perdomo Silvio case, and saw Nick (owner..not Nick Perdomo) unwrapping a box of new cigars from Perdomo. This is their first stab at a Corojo...and I had an hour to kill...so I thought I'd sit down, and burn one, taking pics along the way for...

    Perdomo EDICIÓN de SILVIO

So I got this cigar in a trade from my local shop. In order to give it to me, he had to type in a combination on a 7' glass display box where a single box is proudly displayed. The price on this one was $28...so I'm guessing that's why the security is necessary...but there is also the 'Wow'...

    Mr. Doug's $25-ish Coolidor

So I got a few boxes in the other day and needed a place to stash them until I could get my coolidor properly humidified. So I thought I'd take a stab at this real quick... Stop me if you think I'm doing something wrong, or if I'm goingt o ruin my boxes please...I'm pretty new at this and only...

Do you hang on too long?

I've got half my humidor filled with stuff I'll never smoke, but can't bring myself to pitch. There are probably 15 sticks in there that have been a little dry at some point, and I'm not entirely sure that they'll ever be 'back to normal'. Am I strange to hang on to them, or should I just pitch...

How many do you smoke in one day?

I'm sure this topic is an oldie...but I burned 3 today, and I think I'm going to be sick. Hoyo de Monterrey - "Super Hoyo" at 12:00PM on the course (Hole #3) Punch - "Elite" at 3:00PM on #12 Flor de Olivia - "Churchill" on the patio right now. I've got about 3" left, and I think it'll be a...

Are Sample Packs a good idea?

I know this is a pretty broad question...but are sample packs really the way to go? I usually like 2-3 of something before I know if I like it or not. I really don't think I'd want to buy two of every sample pack I come across... Is there a RIGHT way to do this? Or am I just going to end up...
